MANNISH BOYS "BIG PLANS"
The Mannish Boys return with the long awaited folow up studio album to their widely acclaimed debut "That Represent Man," nominated for both "Album Of The Year" and "Traditional Album Of The Year" in the 2006 Blues Music Awards, and the in-concert set "Live & In Demand." Over the course of three releases, countless live gigs and festival appearances around the world, the steady core of the band has featured a flexible and rotating cast of starring characters who have kept things interesting and fresh with each new release.
On "Big Plans," veterans of The Mannish Boys lend their full support with a perfectly chosen program of seldom heard covers and strong original material. Members both past and present are given ample room to strut their stuff featuring great performances by Finis Tasby, Johnny Dyer, Kid Ramos, Kirk "Eli" Fletcher, Frank "Paris Slim" Goldwasser, Leon Blue, Randy Chortkoff, Tom Leavey and Richard "Big Foot" Innes.
Of course it wouldn't be a Mannish Boys cd without some surprises, and this time out they look to the blues capital of Chicago for a couple of extraordinary special guests including legendary blues guitarist Jody Williams, known for his ground breaking work on classic '50's sides by Otis Rush, Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Rogers and Billy Boy Arnold. Delta Groove also proudly introduces veteran Chicago singer Bobby Jones, who was active on the Chicago blues scene in the late '50's. Jones was the featured vocalist in The Aces with Dave and Louis Myers a few years after they'd parted ways with Little Walter. Other guests include Rick Holmstrom, Mitch Kashmar, Rob Rio, Larry Taylor, Jeff Turmes and David "Woody" Woodford..."Big Plans" indeed!
"Apart from the present day Fabulous Thunderbirds, no finer collection of blues talent exists today in one band." - Blues Revue Magazine
"An all-star blues band with an authentic spirit, The Mannish Boys have what it takes to preserve the music that deserves to be called our national treasure." - Southland Blues Magazine
"...this group honors the blues tradition by carrying it forward faithfully and expertly." - Santa Barbara Blues Society |

Next month Delta Groove Productions launches a brand new label with a whole new vision. Eclecto Groove Records is the latest creation from CEO Randy Chortkoff, dedicated to releasing music by aritsts who defy catagorization. This new division of Delta Groove Music, Inc. will be overseen by Jerry Gordon, a music industry veteran with over 34 years of experience in all facets of the business including co-chairman and owner of Evidence Records. During his 12 year leadership of the label, Gordon served as Executive Producer on over 300 cd releases. "Still Making History" by Ana Popovic is the first release scheduled to debut on a label that, much like Delta Groove, is looking to break all the rules and follow it's own path, all the while providing quality music derserving of much wider recognition. Jason Ricci & The New Blood will follow later this year. |

BLOOD ON THE ROAD:
 |
Jason Ricci & New Blood will be taking a break from their hectic touring schedule to head into the studio in the next coming months to record their Eclecto Groove debut. Jason is an extraordinary artist whose skills on his instrument of choice, the harmonica, continue to reach new levels. At the age of 21, Jason placed first in the Sonny Boy Blues Society contest in Helena, AK and shortly thereafter began working and paying his dues with the likes of Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside. Over the years Jason has crossed paths and worked with other up & coming talent including Enrico Crivellaro and Nick Curran, in addition to winning numerous awards including the "Muddy Waters Award" for most promising talent, and signing on as an endorsee with Hohner Harmonicas. His upcoming release for Delta Groove will be produced by the Grammy Award winning producer John Porter. With a touring schedule of over 300 days a year, you can be sure it won't be long before you can catch this rising star performing in your own home town.. www.jasonricci.com |

ANA POPOVIC "STILL MAKING HISTORY" (JUNE 19)
Only one more month until Eclecto Groove unleashes the U.S. debut release by the fiery European guitar virtuoso Ana Popovic. Produced by John Porter, whose long list of credits include Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Los Lonely Boys, Keb' Mo', Santana, Taj Mahal, and R.L. Burnside, the cd features a blend of electric funk slide guitar, jazzy flourishes, reggae rhythms and tight blues grooves topped by soulful feminine vocals. Ana is also supported by a terrific band which includes Jon Cleary on piano and Phantom Blues Band alumni Mike Finnigan on Hammond B-3, Tony Braunagel on drums, Joe Sublett on tenor sax and Darrell Leonard on trumpet. |

ROD PIAZZA & THE MIGHTY FLYERS "MFBQ" (AUGUST 21)
Last month Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers completed recording and mixing the follow up to their ambitious Delta Groove debut release "For The Chosen Who." The title of their new cd "MFBQ" stands for Mighty Flyers Blues Quartet, now referring to the current economical stylings of the band featuring founding members Rod & Honey Piazza, along with Henry Carvajal on guitar, and Dave Kida on drums. Expect to hear fresh original material and hand selected covers that span traditional Chicago blues, swinging West Coast jump, and 50's Rhythm & Blues, served up with all the class & style that you've come to expect from one of the hardest working bands in the business. |

 |
THE INSOMNIACS "LEFT COAST BLUES " (AUGUST 21)
This is the impressive debut release from one the youngest bands on the West Coast presenting their fresh take on vintage blues. Led by 25 year old vocalist/guitarist Vyasa Dodson, the band swings, jumps, shuffles and twists their way through a selection of mostly original songs, designed to get you up off your seat and onto the dance floor. Musically savy listeners will certainly recognize many of the "Left Coast" influences interwoven throughout the cd, but it's the vitality and exuberance of their performances, along with the instantly memorable melodies that will linger on in the mind of listeners long after the laser has finished scanning the data off that little silver platter. |
