CEDRIC BURNSIDE & LIGHTNIN' MALCOLM "2 MAN WRECKING CREW"

Source: Radio Feedback

I'm just finishing up my first listen and I like it a lot. Wow...what a sound! These guys are really amazing. Gritty, dirty and groovin'  -  like a good blues record should be. Very soon I'll be playing this excellent album.

The new Cedric Burnside and Lightnin' Malcom release is getting extensive airplay on my weekly blues radio show!  It churns and burns with hill country blues authenticity.  It captures the flavors and smells of the raw, droning best of hill country legends now gone, presented anew by these two young lions of the genre.  This will be a top favorite of my listeners, as it is for me.  Keep the strong releases coming!

- Curt Brown, WSND FM 88.9, Notre Dame, IN

“2 Men Wrecking Crew” is good. I was very curious to hear the raw sound of the Delta coming from a West Coast Blues label. To be honest I didn’t believe David Z was the right man for the job of producing the album but he was! Cederic and Malcolm are in their top form, playing some mean’ blues with grit and passion. They deserve to be heard and Delta Groove will help them reach wider audience…

Thanks for the new album from these (2) guys. It’s always a bit doubtful about a two piece, but these 2 guys have got it just right. Great "Raw "Axe, Drums, and two great blues voc's just goes to show what can be done with a good sound mixer. I dig their stuff, and will start giving the album airplay as of next week’s program.

I played a cut on my show last week and listed it on my "Top Spins" on webzine www.chicagobluesguide.com
“Cedric Burnside & Lightnin’ Malcolm - 2 Man Wrecking Crew, Delta Groove Music. Cedric is the grandson of the late Mississippi blues legend R.L. Burnside.  He and his musical partner Lightnin’ Malcolm have teamed together to re-define North Mississippi Country Blues.  This CD has a hypnotic feel and irresistible groove.” (from www.chicagobluesguide.com, “Top Spins”)

I’m just finishing up my first listen and I like it a lot.  I will be spinning cuts for a while.  I really look forward to seeing them at the King Biscuit Blues Festival next week.

From going to the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, MS, the past three years, I am well aware of the music of these two, and also these two together! A great addition to you already "bad-ass" stable of performers! You guys keep on impressing me more and more with each announcement. Pretty soon my show will be all Delta Groove artists!

- Radio Gumbo Charly, WSLR, Sarasota, FL

I just got this one [2 Man Wrecking Crew], thanks. I am really excited about it. I have always been a fan of Cedric's grandfather and I can hear that influence in their music. I played it for my listeners last night and am looking forward to sharing more of it with folks on Sunday. And FYI, the new Elvin Bishop is great as well.

I appreciate the great service the Delta Groove team continues to provide. I interviewed Bonnie Bramlett on my radio show yesterday (we had a great time on the air) and then I played a cut from 2 Man Wrecking Crew . . . and Bekka Bramlett was singing background vocals. Perfect.

- Black Jack Ketchum, WRFG/Atlanta

We received the Two Man Wrecking Crew CD and an early listen reveals some awesome stuff. Amazing all that can come from just two guys. Watch for this one to chart.

- Mike Halmo, Blues Director WBOR, Brunswick, Maine

Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I thought the Cedric & Malcolm CD is great! Gritty, dirty and groovin’ ~ like a good blues record should be.

...got Cedric & Malcolm; love the boys. Met them at The Deep Blues Festival in Minnesota last July. Got 3 or 4 songs planned for my Oct 12 broadcast...

- John 'blueshammer' Hammer, Hammered By The Blues Weekly Radio, Owatonna, MN

Just got the Cedric Burnside/Lightnin’ Malcolm disc, and it’s fantastic stuff, thank you very much! I’ll be looking forward to giving this one to Chuck so he can consider it for airplay sometime real soon. R. L. Burnside is one of my two favorite bluesmen of all time, so it’s great to know the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree!
